More progress on an old project

I'm going back to this one (finally) and finish it before 2011. Here's some in progress shots. Got some more work to do on Wolvie's face and hair still and lots to do on Hulk. Going to do all the veins and stuff after they are posed.

3D Artist magazine

Lynette Clee from 3D Artist magazine contacted me recently and invited me to do a Q and A in the "Inspiration Corner" section of this months issue. Look how happy I am!

Shadowbox Bot!

I have been such a blog slacker lately. Been pretty busy lately but managed to learn some new stuff in zbrush 4 while creating this guy. It's a model I created for our art blog at work. Unique parts were modeled in zbrush using shadow box, then decimated and imported into 64 bit 3DSMax and assembled, posed and exported back into zbrush for rendering. You can read more on my thought process here.

Parks'n'Rec fan art

I did some quick, 1 hour sketches of some of the characters a while back and I thought it would be fun to go back and polish them up. I've been inspired by Mark Sinclair, one of the many talented guys I worked with at Ensemble and another amazing artist from cghub I recently discovered, Vincent Altimore.

My caricatures are not nearly exaggerated enough, but hopefully I can get out of my comfort zone a bit and push the features more and more with each one I do. I'll probably tackle Leslie Knope and Tom Haverford next and then maybe I can do some from "the office".

Hope y'all like!

Bugbear Mercenary

I haven't had much time to work on stuff lately but managed to squeeze in a few hours here and there to make this image for the Robot blog. It's inspired by Jeff Murchie's bugbear concept from Demon Stone. Hope you guys dig it.

Sketch-A-Mathon

I was invited to do a sketch blog with some friends and I've been posting more there than my own blog! Everyone tries to post something new every day. Here's some of my latest:

Lizzie

I posted a new blog entry on the Robot site today for our latest theme, "monsters". This was my take on an old Tom Savini character from the Tales From the Darkside series called "Lizzie". I was planning on posing her and doing a bunch of other stuff but I'm getting sick of looking at her......can't imagine why.

Ninja vs. Robot

Our site at Robot has recently changed with some of my work on the front page. This guy evolved from a cute little bot to a towering alien invader. I can neither confirm nor deny if this is related to what we're doing at Robot. You'll just have to wait and see.

I modeled this dude in Max and took him into zbrush for some little details, decimated him, brought him back into max and modeled some simple buildings and highway overpasses. Everything else is photoshop. Hope you guys dig it!
